Masalah berat badan merupakan masalah yang sangat pelik dan sering dipertanyakan oleh pasien yang saat ini mengalami kegemukan. Menjadi gemuk merupakan mimpi buruk bagi sebagian orang terutama bagi mereka yang sangat memperhatikan penampilan. Kegemukan juga akan menguras kepercayaan diri seseorang sehingga akan berpengaruh terhadap karir orang yang bersangkutan. Berikut 15 langkah yang bisa diikuti untuk mengendalikan berat badan.
1. “Saya harus bisa!!!” Tanamkan tiga kata itu dalam diri anda sebagai langkah pertama. Walau banyak godaan datang menghadang, asal anda selalu ingat bahwa anda harus bisa menurunkan berat badan maka anda telah berada di jalur yang tepat. Jadikan orang orang yang telah berhasil menurunkan berat badan sebagai motivator anda untuk menundukan godaan yang datang.

2. Sarapan merupakan hal yang wajib dilakukan. Jangan pernah meninggalkan rumah di pagi hari tanpa menyentuh sesuatu untuk dimakan sebab makanan ini akan memberikan anda cukup tenaga untuk beraktifitas seharian. Tidak perlu sarapan makanan yang berat berat, cukup pisang, yogurt, sereal, roti dan lain lain sebab makanan ringan yang mengandung banyak serat dan protein akan memberikan anda rasa kenyang hingga tiba waktunya makan siang.
3. Sediakan waktu sejenak untuk membaca kandungan gizi pada kemasan makanan. Yang perlu diperhatikan disini adalah kalori sebab zat inilah yang sangat berperanan dalam menambah berat badan anda bila dikonsumsi secara berlebihan. Sesuaikan kebutuhan energi/kalori anda dalam sehari dengan catatan yang tertera dalam kemasan tersebut.
4. Jangan melakukan diet. Untuk jangka pendek memang diet akan menurunkan berat badan anda, namun bila diet anda hentikan maka berat badan anda akan bertambah kembali. Makan makanan yang aneh aneh untuk diet atau mengurangi beberapa jenis makanan tidak akan membuat berat badan anda turun. Yang penting dilakukan adalah memilih makanan yang seimbang nilai gizinya sesuai dengan kebutuhan tubuh anda sehingga kalori yang dimakan akan dimanfaatkan secara optimal.
5. Selalu makan secara teratur. Tubuh secara unik akan menurunkan metabolisme bila sedang lapar, hal ini tentu tidak bagus untuk proses penurunan berat badan. Untuk menghindari hal tersebut maka buatlah pola makan harian yang bisa dan rutin anda lakukan setiap hari. Pastikan jadual makan anda tersebut sedikitnya 3 kali sehari.
6. Perbanyak konsumsi serat. Serat sangat penting untuk menjaga agar tubuh tetap sehat. Serat yang kita makan sehari hari berfungsi untuk membantu menurunkan kolesterol dan memperlancar pengosongan saluran pencernaan. Serat juga bisa mempercepat rasa kenyang sehingga secara alami mengurangi porsi makanan yang tidak berguna. Sebagian besar serat mempunyai kandungan air yang tinggi dan kalori yang rendah sehingga sesuai dengan makanan yang kita butuhkan untuk menurunkan berat badan.
7. Makanan sehat selalu menjadi pilihan utama. Pilihlah makanan yang sedikit mengandung lemak jenuh. Perbanyak konsumsi buah buahan dan sayur sayuran. Pilih minyak sayur sebagai sumber lemak karena mengandung lemak tak jenuh dalam porsi tinggi. Makan makanan yang banyak mengandung Omega 3 seperti ikan.
8. Olah raga. Sesuaikan olah raga yang anda pilih dengan kondisi tubuh anda. Salah satu olah raga yang sehat, murah dan bisa dilakukan oleh semua orang adalah jalan kaki. Berjalanlah minimal 5 kilometer sehari. Usahakan selalu untuk menambah jarak anda berjalan. Ingat, olah raga tidak hanya menurunkan berat badan anda tetapi juga membuat tubuh anda lebih sehat.
9. Buang kebiasaan ngemil di malam hari. Ngemil di malam hari akan menghancurkan upaya anda menurunkan berat badan sebab kalori yang anda makan setelah makan malam akan tertimbun di dalam tubuh. Menggosok gigi setelah makan malam turut membantu anda untuk mengurangi keinginan untuk ngemil.

12. Jadikan orang orang disekitar anda sebagai motivator. Mereka akan membantu anda memberikan dorongan bila suatu saat anda mengalami kejenuhan dengan program penurunan berat badan yang sedang anda lakukan.

Tangkuban Perahu
